Carl founded the firm to serve the everyday needs of individuals and small businesses. His practice focuses on representing executors and administrators in Surrogate’s Court probate and estate administration proceedings; drafting and supervising execution of wills and other estate planning documents; representing buyers and sellers in residential real estate transactions; helping small businesses form and operate; and, among other things, representing parties in personal injury and breach of contract actions. Carl maintains a significant pro bono practice representing low-income tenants in Housing Court actions.

Carl is an Adjunct Professor of Law at New York Law School where he co-teaches Pretrial Advocacy. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Black Bar Association and is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Trusts & Estates Section Diversity Committee. Carl has been recognized as 2016 and 2017 Empire State Counsel by the New York State Bar Association for his commitment to pro bono legal work and has been rated as a 2019 New York Metro Rising Star by Super Lawyers. Carl is an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. (Queens Alumni Chapter). He is also proud to serve as a Mentor for Legal Outreach. Carl received his B.A. in Philosophy, Politics & Law, cum laude, from Binghamton University and his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.

As a former corporate law firm associate and Special Assistant Corporation Counsel for the Office of Corporation Counsel, New York City Law Department, Carl has significant experience in Supreme, Civil, and Surrogate’s Courts.

Carl loves the practice of law and is excited to serve your everyday needs. Carl, a Brooklyn native, lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Dawn, and their dog, Marley.
